Laura Pitt-Pulford and Michael French to Star in New Production of The Sound of Music at U.K.’s Curve in Leicester

Directed by Paul Kerryson, in his final production as artistic director at the theatre after 23 years at the helm, it will be choreographed by Drew McOnie with musical direction by Ben Atkinson, the same team behind last year’s production of Chicago.
The cast will also include Emma Clifford (Baroness Elsa Schraeder), Emma Harrold (Liesl Von Trapp), Mark Inscoe (Max Dettweiler), Lucy Schaufer (Mother Abbess), Annie Wensak (Frau Schmidt) and Jack Wilcox (Rolf Gruber). The company will also include children from Curve’s community cast.
Pitt-Pulford returns to Curve, where she has previously appeared in Piafand Hello, Dolly! Other theatre credits include The Return of the Soldier(Jermyn Street Theatre), The Light Princess (National Theatre), A Man of No Importance (Salisbury Playhouse) and Mack and Mabel and Parade (both Southwark Playhouse).
French’s West End credits include West Side Story (Her Majesty’s Theatre),Radio Times (Queens Theatre), Les Miserables (Palace Theatre), Sacred Heart (Royal Court Upstairs), Art (Wyndham’s Theatre) and Chicago(Adelphi Theatre). His television work includes “EastEnders” (series regular David Wicks), “Casualty” and “Holby City” (series regular Nick Jordan).
